Holographic 3D Digital Projection Explained

Holographic 3D Digital Projection Explained Video Clips. Duration : 4.67 Mins.

Three Christie Roadster HD18K DLP® projectors were used for the first-ever transmission of live, interactive 3D holograms from London and Montreal to Orlando, Florida from June 17-19, 2009. The interactive transmission process is known as Musion Live Stage telepresence and offers a new way for people to holographically communicate face-to-face in real time, crossing the boundaries of geographic distance.

Holographic TV dreams in Japan 2022 World Cup bid

Holographic TV dreams in Japan 2022 World Cup bid Tube. Duration : 3.90 Mins.

TOKYO -- Forget 3D TV, Japan is promoting the idea of ultra-realistic holographic broadcasts and the ability to zoom a virtual camera in behind players on the pitch if it secures the 2022 World Cup. Japan proposes expanding the World Cup to all 208 FIFA member nations through fan-fest events that will feature live, holographic coverage of the games. Fans will gather in stadiums thousands of kilometers from the action and watch the games as if they are taking place in front of their eyes.

Forget Siri, check out holographic terminator!

Forget Siri, check out holographic terminator! Tube. Duration : 1.77 Mins.

I decided to build my own virtual assistant. When I found this beautiful 3D model by "Dazzawalla" (link below) and being a big fan of the movies, the choice was quickly made. This time I used not only the skeleton tracking of the Kinect SDK, but also the speech recognition, which works despite my Belgian accent. The resulting "assistent" has a bit of an attitude, but is fun to play with nevertheless. The image is projected onto the wall using a small LED projector (hence the low light level in the room). The Microsoft Kinect is placed behind me but could be anywhere. The code supports anaglyph 3D, so with glasses on it looks pretty convincing in real life too. I recently added reflections to my little 3D engine, so this was the perfect test for it. One possible improvement that could be made is to use the camera image for the reflection. I hope you like it! I'll be back. 3D model: Terminator by Dazzawalla: www.turbosquid.com

Windows Phone and Kinect to create "holographic" game engine

Windows Phone and Kinect to create "holographic" game engine Tube. Duration : 2.32 Mins.

Another quick hack using the Kinect beta SDK and my new Windows Phone (which is great!). What you see is a simple game engine utilizing the pseudo-holographic effect from my other videos. A Kinect "sees" the position of the viewer and the 3D engine adjusts the image accordingly to give the illusion of a real 3D object. The 3D engine supports anaglyph 3D (red/cyan glasses) for a better effect in real life. A simple WP7 app controls the application and the helicopter using the accelerometers of the phone. If you like it, check out my other videos. Thanks for watching!
